Tata AutoComp Systems on Thursday signed a joint venture with Chinese firm Guoxuan Hi-Tech to design, engineer, manufacture and supply battery packs for electric vehicles (EVs).
The joint-venture company has started a prototype manufacturing operation in Pune. The prototype facility was inaugurated by Arvind Goel, MD and CEO, Tata AutoComp Systems and Zhen Li, chairman, Guoxuan Hi-Tech.
Speaking on the occasion Arvind Goel, MD and CEO, Tata AutoComp Systems, said, “At Tata AutoComp, it is our endeavour to bring the latest technology and solutions to our customers. With the advent of electric vehicles (EVs), the need for battery packs would be significant and we see a huge opportunity in this market. We are pleased to have Guoxaun Hi-Tech as our partner, which has been offering cutting-edge technology in battery packs.”

Last month Tata AutoCom signed a MoU with Tritium Pty Ltd to supply DC Fast Chargers for electric vehicles in India. Tritium’s Veefil-RT DC Fast Chargers are capable of charging the full range of electric vehicles – Two Wheelers, Passenger Vehicles and Commercial Vehicles.
