SECI floats tender for 1,785 MW of Solar Projects in Rajasthan
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has floated tendering inviting bids to develop 1,785 MW of solar projects in Rajasthan. Bids will open on April 20 and the last date to submit the bids online is April 15, 2021. Scheduled commissioning date for commissioning of the project’s full capacity is 18 months from the power purchase agreement’s effective date.
India Utility wins IGSF Gold Innovation Award for Rooftop Solar Workflow Automation
The India Smart Grid Forum (IGSF) presented the prestigious Gold Innovation award to BSES Rajdhani Power Limited, for automation of rooftop solar workflow in their territory. BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) distributes power over 2.4 million customers spread over 21 districts in South and West Delhi, of which over 3,000 customers have installed rooftop solar systems.
Nextracker to Supply Smart Solar Trackers for Brazil’s Largest Solar Power Plant
Nextracker has announced that it has been selected by leading Brazilian EPC firm Andrade Gutierrez and developer Elera Renováveis (formerly Brookfield Energia Renovável) to supply 830 MW of its world-leading solar tracker technology, NX Horizon for Phase I of the Janaúba solar complex located near the city of Janaúba, Minas Gerais, Brazil. When completed, the plant will be the largest of its kind in South America and is scheduled to become operational by early 2022.
Sangam Renewables subsidiary of Waree Energies commissions 16 MW solar project in Maharashtra
Sangam Renewables has commissioned a 16 megawatt solar project in Gavhankund, Maharashtra. The project has been commissioned through subsidiary Waacox Energy Private Limited, Sangam Renewables said in a BSE filing.

Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) has released the‘Draft Karnataka Renewable Energy Policy 2021-2026 , With this policy, the state aims at developing 20 GW of renewable energy projects with and without energy storage. Out of the 20 GW of renewable energy projects, 2 GW will be rooftop solar projects.

Average rural power supply duration went up to 18.5 hours per day in 2019-20
Average rural power supply duration increased from 12.5 hours in 2014-15 to 18.5 hours in 2019-20, Power Minister R K Singh has said. The minster was addressing the Power Ministry Parliamentary Consultative Committee in a meeting.
