Village in Chhattisgarh gets electricity for the first time with solar panels

The residents of Chhattisgarh’s Bhalupvillage in Balrampur finally got electricity connection for the first time after the district administration installed solar panels for every family.

Being a Naxal prone area, the initiatives taken by the government failed to reach the village, as a result, the residents had to spend their lives in darkness for a very long time.

As the dominance of Naxals from the areas has vanished the village is finally availing the benefits of the schemes of the government.

“We used to bring Kerosene oil and burn lamps during the night. We used to somehow manage. Now we are happy that we have got the electricity connection. During the rainy season it is little difficult to manage, but still, the situation is better than earlier,’ said a local.

The village with a population of about 150 people, the locals saw the lights in the house for the first time.

The students, who found it difficult to study at night, seemed elated with the electrification of their village.

“We are very happy. We can now study easily at night,” said a girl.

District collector, Avinash Kumar Sharan said that apart from the electrification, the village will soon have a proper road facility and Anganwadi centre for the people.
