After the successful completion of first phase of installation of rooftop solar at government building, the Punjab Municipal Corporation is reportedly gearing up to identify more building for such set up of solar plants.
The state Municipal Corporation is going to carry out a survey to identify more buildings in the city reports ET citing sources. Under the first phase, the corporation installed rooftop solar at 20 buildings in the city which has already started producing electricity.
Executive engineer at the municipal corporation – Balwinder Singh speaking to the publication said for the next phase of rooftop solar installation they are going to mostly look at schools, zila parishad offices and buildings of other government departments.
However, the Municipal Corporation has not set a time frame for starting the survey, target for the number of buildings and total capacity of solar plants it wants to install.
