Gensol Mobility launched India’s first all-electric shared smart mobility platform Blu Smart for efficient, affordable, intelligent, sustainable ride-sharing, car-sharing and scooter-sharing.
Blu Smart was co-founded by Anmol Singh Jaggi, Dr Uma Kant, Punit K Goyal, Kiran Patil and Puneet Singh Jaggi in Oct 2018.
Blu Smart raised initial funding of $15mln from Gensol Group which has developed, built, designed and engineered 16GW+ of solar projects globally.
Blu Smart will raise $100mln+ in 2019 to scale the smart mobility platform and the smart charging platform.
Blu Smart Shofr was recently launched in Delhi-NCR with about 70 Mahindra Verito EVs that will be ramped up to 400 vehicles by the end of March 2019.
The company is in talks with various car companies such as Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Nissan for procuring EVs.
The company also announced its plan to build 60+ Blu Smart Charge Stations in Delhi NCR by June 2019 and will expand to 500+ by Dec 2019 and 2500+ in 2020.
It has invested over Rs 50 crore to set up charging infrastructure in various parts of the city.
Customers can pre-book the charging time slots and pay seamlessly through the Blu Smart Charge mobile app and web platform.
Blu Smart in a statement said that its Smart Charge stations will accelerate the adoption of smart electric mobility in India.
Blu Smart Charge Stations will charge electric cars in mere minutes with its charging range of 15KW to 50KW said the official statement.
Blu Smart Charge’s technology will comply with Bureau of Indian Standards (Bharat Charge), Combined Charging System (CCS) and Charge de Move (CHAdeMO)
The company is negotiating with Tata Motors (for Tigor EV) and in the process of getting more orders from Mahindra. It is also exploring with Nissan on the possibility of bringing the Nissan Leaf onto its platform. The website also hints at providing BMW i3 and Tesla 3 models under its hood.
Gensol Mobility promoter Anmol Singh Jaggi speaking about the service said “customers would not have to pay surge pricing during peak hours.” He added “The pricing will be competitive with other players that charge about Rs 14-16 per km for compact sedans. We are starting with web booking and in another seven days, our app would be in place.”
Blu Smart has already set up 18 such charging stations.
Interestingly the website shows only Greater Noida and Gurugram as pickup location, however there are multiple drop locations. We tried booking one cab from Pari Chowk bus stand (Greater Noida) to Malviya Nagar (South Delhi) on 16th Jan at 7:41pm logging in on the official website (https://blu-smart.com/) .We got an OTP for user account and it was valid for just two minutes, but unfortunately the website does not have an option to login, use OTP or create an account.
